Joel i am sharing my knowledge from taking many custom shops apart.
I have owned 10 or so CS without COAs. Its really not that big a deal.
Every used CS i bought here in the states was under 1500.00
Again I am not trying to argue but IMO that guitar could have been a good purchase

Sorry if I came off cranky. I've owned 4 CS guitars from Fender and never one without COA and original case, so to me it's suspicious as you'd understand and I tend to not buy the pig in a poke unless it's someone I trust or a friend that vouch for them. Never owned a master built though or LTDs. But yeah those I've owned and have now are about the value of 1500, but all team built.

An un-cooperative seller with half-decent pictures is like a suspicious ad that says "Sells As Is".

But as you say, I could very well be wrong and this could be the deal of a lifetime. I'd be the first to admit I'm wrong if that shows to be the case.

I have also seen serials stamped 10 OF 50 on the neck plate but nothing on the headstock

    [sorry for my poor english]
Everyone sum up the strange compromise on this deal ... it could be really good for 1.5k but the seller details on the guitar are really wrong despite of the relative effort for the pics (his smartphone is crappy). Again big thanks for all of you ! And now i have 2 choices ... let it down or go for 2 hours of car to play this guitar and if it rings the good way ... it will be a good deal afterall. A night to think about it, but juste for fun maybe i will go further ;)

No relic stamp on the neck, gotta entertain the possibility it's a mismatch CS partscaster.

I have seen enough necks without the relic stamp on the neck to not really put much stock into that.

For me looks like a basis of 99 65' NOS Stratocaster OW/Tortoise. But it's impossible to have some infomation or a registration of the limited edition "one of" form the custom shop !

    Nothing on the web ...

Bottom line, many or all of the parts appear to be legitimate CS.

You'll never be able to know for sure if it's a partscaster or not without the COA.

If the series of 12 it's in is recognizable enough, someone may be able to confirm something, but it's fairly nondescript.

Usually a series or limited edition will have some notation of that on the body to tie them together, handwritten in the heel or stamped in a pickup cavity.

What case does it have? Rarely do people 'lose' both the COA and the case. That starts to look like things getting parted out . . .

Nobody can make the decision for you. In the US, that guitar would be worth $1500, I'd say.

Not to me, but to somebody.

Those look like AY supervised custom shop pickups. Mine are grey bottom but were called 69 custom wound and signed not initials. Oh and if that is an older CS then the pickups did not come in that body, as they are 99s.

    Good man.

If it looks as good in the flesh as it does in the pics and sounds as good as it looks and plays even better ...... money well spent.
