So my friend purchased an oddball guitar a couple days ago, assuming from a pawnshop. He paid 150 and didn't know much about it. No one does I can't find much in the Internet. What I did find was a 1 minute video telling me very little. All I know is that there was 400 made. Some guy in California had them made and the fender factory was the only one that could do the graphics. I haven't touched or seen it in person yet so I have no idea how it plays, what kind of hardware is on it or anything like that. I know they exist and other people are wondering too. It's an Alien Invasion guitar?
Almost traded with a local CLer for one but either he wasn't into it or I changed my mind but they have shown up a few times before at least here in the Boston area listings..
I think the Fender connection is all hype/lies/BS.....but if they had anything to do with it they would know....so I'd send a photo and all the info you have to [email protected]. It's probably just a story to try to get more from someone. The last one I saw sell for $75 brand new on ebay and it mentioned nothing about Fender... http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Alien-Invasion-Electric-Guitar-/230997744410?nma=true&si=kJeFP%2BXjcedp%2Bjia%2BskMF8GJf5E%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 I think your friend was taken for a ride...
I would speculate "Made in the same factory as some Fender guitars are made in but not affiliated with Fender "
It's not made by fender, im pretty sure it's just the graphics were done there. In the video I saw, the guy said he called up to fender and asked about t and they said 400 made and the graphics could only be done in their factory. I'm just wondering if they're okay guitars, my buddy plans on bringing this across the states I'm pretty sure
'in their factory' probably means Yako or Cort in China or Indonesia, under contract to Squier/Fender - not an actual Fender factory....meant to try to sell it for more than it's worth....
I just bought one and it is great you can change between both pickups and you can use them both at once
