$9,999.00 Ha. I already got one.
This is the really famous one Hendrix painted himself, I believe. Someone tried to sell it for silly money after Jimi's Strat was sold, but it didn't attract as much interest because the new owner hand (gulp) repainted it!
Come on...we know that Jimi was always a Gibson guy.
This isn’t just a cash grab.
Why, Jimi even played guitars with the Experience Hendrix logo on the pickguard just in case Gibson’s marketing department might have problems shifting the guitars a few decades down the line. He was clairvoyant like few others.
Somewhere..... an orthodontic surgeon is reaching for his credit card.
What, why? For $999 I would love to own one of these. I’ve played a V since ‘94, next to a strat it’s the guitar that feels most ‘home’ to me.
Bought this in May for $982 after I was stupid enough to sell my first one:
Beautiful. I had a white one and sold it a year ago. Been regretting it ever since. Another V and an SG standard is all I need. Until I have both. Then Ill probably need something else too.
What a great shot.
There's a really interesting story about Jimi's psychedelic V here: https://reverb.com/uk/news/how-i-discovered-jimi-hendrixs-psychedelic-flying-v
I’m in no way a Fender fan boy and I enjoy playing Gibson’s just as much, I just saw this come up on the Hendrix Instagram page and just thought it was crazy but of course it’s more of a collector thing. I just thought it was funny how much they will charge when it’s associated with Hendrix.
I'm pretty boring. I just don't like them and many other designs either.
could not have said it any better
