    Hi everyone,
I'm soon to join the strat club with a Vintage V6 on order and hopefully arriving in a few weeks.
It'll be the first guitar I've ever bought, despite having been playing about 23 years on and off (mostly off, I'm still terrible):- I've had an Epiphone Les Paul gold top i chose and my dad bought me after my GCSE's and an acoustic my wife bought me for my birthday out of the blue 12 ish years ago.

My first (and so far last) experience of playing a strat was with a cheap squire my dad owned in the late 90's and frankly that put me off them until quite recently - it just didn't feel or sound very good and it was in to a cheap solid state amp of its day, which didn't help. So I stuck with the LP and humbuckers and never really ever thought I'd want a strat

But then I started to notice something recently. Most of my favourite bands used single coils and/or strats. People like Hendrix, Smashing Pumpkins, Dinosaur Jr, Nirvana, Pink Floyd... Hmmm maybe I should give it a proper go myself. So I went searching, almost got a J Mascis jazzmaster, but they were a little out of budget and also out of stock everywhere. I toyed with the idea of a tele, but figured I'd get the sound I want from a strat more. Then I stumbled upon the Vintage V6 line and it looks like a great guitar for not a lot of outlay. So now I sit and wait for it to arrive. Given the times we're living in I haven't been able to get to a store to play it, but YouTube and the internet inform me it should be good. The shop also gives all guitars it sells a setup, so I should avoid and QC issues.

I'm excited to join the strat club!

    Welcome to ST:)

We'll need pictures of your current guitars, and the new one when it arrives.

    It's mandatory. :D

So this is obviously not a strat, but it has been my only electric guitar for 22 years and I can't wait for its friend to arrive[IMG]

I’d rock that LP. I have an Epi LP myself.

It's been in for a full service and setup after the frets became so worn everything was out of tune. I pick it back up sometime this week

Nice to have you join The Club.

    That's a good looking EpiPaul.

Welcome to the Strat forums. I too have an Epi LP, great guitar. Of course, I also have a Stratocaster.
