I'm planning on getting a bass amp to run my guitar into. I know bass amps don't usually have a lot of gain, but I'm looking for something akin to an Orange Rockerverb or OR100, or like the Sunn Model T Reissue. (The original is too clean personally) I love the bottom end of those two examples, but I want to try some bass amps in that same vain. Solid state (MOSFET, not Digital) is fine. My budget is as cheap as possible, without suffering from quality. My max cost is around $1,100. Anything that can do stoner rock/grunge.

Since you say a SS head will fill your needs and you want big bottom, search for a Kustom II at 75 watts RMS, or the Kustom III at 125 RMS , even the bigger head will not drain anywhere near 1100 bucks from your wallet!

Most times the only thing these 40 year old heads need is to have the pots cleaned and circuit board harnesses unplugged and plugged back in to clean off tarnish from there Aluminum connectors.
