Nice fellow I took drum lessons from put me on his list of players and I get the occasional email for guitarist wanted. Once in a while something comes that I think, I might actually be able to do that.

Today, I got the email for a local tribute band seeking a guitarist....a STEELY DAN TRIBUTE BAND!!! lololol

Think I'll pass on that. :D

First 'proper' band I played with did a lot of Steely Dan. My god it was hard but it made me get my chops together . Go for it, you can only improve and learn.

That's a challenge! Wish I could rise to that level, they had some quality tunes.

But my reaction would have to be:

Ok, one does not "warm" to Steely Dan. Warm is something relating to music that touches your heart and your emotions. Steely Dan is cerebral. So it's a brain thing, not a body/soul/heart thing. :D

Becker and Fagan are brilliant. Dare I use the word "genius"?

Is there demand for a Steely Dan tribute?
What time would the gig start? 6pm?
So everyone can be home by 9???

That's funny but possibly applicable to me...and fans of every classic rock band. :D
