They started about 2 weeks ago. From Croatia for example. Anyone find a decent solution to get rid of them?

I tried a few apps but they don't prevent them. I turned on the feature that stops ringing on unknowns.

Looking to stop them completely without changing my phone #. Is it even possible?

It should be easy to tell your iPhone you do not want calls from Croatia, but unfortunately it’s not.
Got a couple of calls recently from Turkey to tell me there was a problem with my SIN. Really!

Oh, those were from me. I was calling because I am royalty trying to help you by donating some money. Just leave your name, bank account #, and maybe your SS #. I'll send the money right over. :D:D:D

I’m pretty sure the only way to stop the one-ring was to throw it into the fires of Mt Doom...

Go to Settings —> Phone —> Silence Unknown Callers. Now only calls from numbers in your Contacts list or numbers you have recently called will ring your phone... everybody else goes straight to voice mail, and you’ll be notified of a missed call.

Settings/phone. Set 'Silence unknown callers'. Works for me, let 'em eat voicemail.

Did that, was notified of 37 missed calls in a week! If my ‘phone rings with anything other than a known number I just answer it and out it back where it was or answer and stay silent. If it’s a call trying to sell me fire and theft insurance for my goldfish, it’ll clear as soon as the caller is speaking to the mug that actually said something. If it’s automated, the recorded sales pitch doesn’t get it’s cue to cut in and, again, it dies. Comes as second nature now, rings, look at calmer ID, answer and put in pocket.

That's a good idea for an app, filter by country or region, so you could just block Turkey and Croatia.
Android has a built in spam filter, works pretty good I rarely get calls form unknowns.

Also the iPhone option to block a number , it sends it direct to voice mail, well it’s more complicated to retrieve and delete voice mail than answering and hanging up right away.
Just let me block the damn number
