might as well turn it off alltogether.

People are not gonna be the way you think they should be.

Look for something and youll find it.

Lots of singers & players do crap I dont like . Act like idiots. Believe an propagate things I do not.

Deal with it and move on :whistling::whistling:

People are A holes, so nothing you can do with that. The less I know about my “heroes”, the better.

I do admit I’ve had a break from Queensryche the last few years. Reading too many articles about Mr. Tate on Blabbermouth made me throw up in my mouth. Luckily I’m a “out of sight, out of mind” kinda guy. So now I can enjoy the first albums again.

edit: I fully understand artists who don’t want to talk to fans after a gig. I remember a gig I did where I was in the hotel bed just 20 minutes after the gig ended. I would be a boring rock star.

pretty much sums it up. lennon was an ahole, no doubt. but that actually adds to his legend for me. songs like In My Life and Happiness and Im Only Sleeping take on new meaning because of it, and his jerky songs like iamthewalrus and the piggie one (name escaping me atm) do too. that guy will have a certain essence that even clearly more talented artists like mccartney havent touched, almost all because theyre more tragic, flawed, whatever. part of cool art.

sorry about punctuation- turned off auto stuff on my phone recently to be an ahole

you equate child abuse with devil worship? … nah. who actually worships the devil anyway? thought it’s
more a form of protest kinda thing.

I used to listen to the Smiths a lot. NOw it turns out Morrisey is a vile piece of sh1te, i won't. Because to do so means me using spotify, and that enriches him. Others i've always avoided due to their views - that idiot Nugent for a start.

Equate? No, that's what the word "or" means.

And yes, it happens often in many places. Maybe you should look up SRA.

Same as with everything else. Separate the person from their profession. It applies to everything from art- and artists to the guy behind the counter at starbucks. I don't enjoy my coffee any less because he's an a-hole.

Similarly, I know plenty of people that I work with and that I'd like to strangle every day in their professional capacity, but that I love hanging out with outside of work.

It's not difficult really, just remember that we aren't our professions.

A quick google on child abuse and worship in general will show you that the nature of the entity that constitutes the worshipee, has nothing to do with the level of abuse surrounding it. Rocks in glass buildings and all that.

If your thinking of the song “Piggies”, that one was written by George Harrison

A quick google search is not research. And smarmy doesn't get you far either.

You don't need much research to find what you're looking for.

I've become sort of disenchanted when it comes to these things...like when I read about Buzz Aldrin. As others have said, it's usually a case of separating the person from his work.
I'm very interested in Renaissance Art. Michelangelo is one of my favorites.
I then read a biography and found out just what an a**hole he was too.
He was incredibly mean, a liar and exploited people.
But it doesn't detract from his work. In my view he was a genius despite being a total jerk.
Although I must say that as much as I love his work, I would hate having to be around someone like that!

Shallow and intolerant beliefs usually suffer from confirmation bias.

I posted my opinion without malice. Then a couple of posters felt the need to make snide remarks. The famous aren't the only a-holes in the world.

No one's getting enriched off of streams from Spotify, no musicians, anyway, so you at least don't need to worry about that part.

Hopefully, when we grow up we realize that hero worship is for children.
Then, maybe, we can also learn to find and appreciate something good in everyone.

I can separate the talent from the person. Or the persona from the person. What I can't stand is political speeches, viewpoints, and agendas when I paid to see a concert. The artist can do that on their own time
