In the 1967 Xmas special Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra's sons both break it down boys! I just saw this on PBS and was like "were the 60's really that corny!?" OMG. Time to discuss....

And to answer your question YES, the '60s could be very corny.

Try watching a few '60s sitcoms or maybe a few episodes of The Monkees.

It was hard to have a meaningful conversation with the 'man' who used to beat his wife and kids. Mixed his ashes with concrete and poured it into a step in the back garden.

I wish my kids would talk more often. But we were all busy at that age.

I had I nice chat with him yesterday. Then I called Mom.

They split up 40 years ago.

I like to do that...call one, and then the other.

I am fortunate to have both parents alive and well in their 70s.

I hardly talk to my dad. He split when I was 16, moved 16 hours away I've seen him in person 4-5 times since then. He came out to visit once, when I named my son after him--20 years ago. I've reached out to him a bunch of times, mostly he doesn't respond. There was a while we were emailing regularly, and then he just quit responding. Changed his email address and phone number without telling me. Sold the farm that'd been in the family for 130 years and moved without ever telling me his new address. He has never spoken with his grandchildren, or sent them anything. Not even so much as a birthday card.

I've reached the conclusion that he doesn't care.

Happy for you folks that had/have good dads that you relate to, enjoy them.

Mine though, as long as he stays dead we're ok.
