I forgot to mention that by normal I meant that he sometimes curls in to lick his penis. I try not to look. ;)

My five month old German Shepherd LOVES it when I play! She follows me down to my music room and is very interested in what I'm doing the entire time. She will occasionally fall asleep during longer sessions but she won't leave.

I’m either getting better or she just tunes me out. Just like a woman.

My dogs lay by my feet and chill when I play. The mini Schnauzer mix freaks out on my foot when I use my wah pedal. My friends dog would sing along if anyone played guitar..‍

When we first got my dog as a puppy she would bark at any guitar I picked up and started making noise with. Now she's 2 and regularly sleeps in front of my amp while I'm playing (Usually bedroom/apartment volume).

Our dog likes it when I take my guitar out because she gets to lie down in the case. She sings too sometimes. Loud.

Wendy hears the amp click on and leaves the room. I’ve had 6 dogs over my adult life. With my first dog, Whiskey, I didn’t consider his sensitivity to all sound, and played a lot of loud music with him in proximity. He lost his hearing. I’ve lost much of my own hearing. I think it is humane to take precautions and not expose animals to loud sustained sound.

Wendy doesn’t walk out when I pick up an acoustic guitar. So my playing can’t be that intolerable.

Our Pug Bart like to be in the room when I practice. Our late Pug Minnie would lie down at the end of the pedal board. A Pug Pedal.

This guy leaves the room as soon as I pick up any instrument. Man's best friend...

My five furry kids seem to enjoy it. It soothes the savage little beasties. I think they know when I’m playing I’m happy and relaxed and I won’t be putting them in their crates for a minute.

I don't own a dog but we do have a cat. She doesn't care to be around when I play unless it's finger picking on an acoustic. Funny though, years ago when I was young my parents had two ducks that they purchased for my sister as a present. When the ducks matured they would come by the downstairs glass sliding doors whenever I played guitar and listen. If I stopped they'd go away and come back when I started up again.

My dog doesn't mind my guitar playing but if I play the harmonica she gets upset. I can only play when she's out in the yard

Does he react this way when everyone plays the guitar or just when you play? LOL

Mine loves it when I play Jazz standards. It curls up to me and falls asleep. It only wakes up when I start playing Mahavishnu tunes....
