My lab will howl if I play in "G", that includes playing a single G chord or even dwell on a G note. Other scale tones get minimal reaction, but from F# to G# gets him going, and G is a trigger 100%. I put him out or in a bedroom to practice (usually) because he just cracks me up. I guess every singer has a favorite key..
This thread suddenly reminded me of a story from many years ago. I was at a rehearsal in a friend’s garage, and he left the side door open for a little ventilation (it was a hot evening in summer). At some point, his pet duck came in through the door, unbeknownst to any of us. Immediately after I finished playing one of my half-baked solos, I looked down and saw the duck standing in front of my amp, listening. Suddenly, the duck noticed me watching, and quickly waddled away, as if embarrassed at being caught in the act. We all had a good laugh, and that must have been the highlight of the evening because I have no recollection of the music itself. Forty years of playing music, and these are the kind of things I remember...
I played this back with a speaker near the tank of my fish to see if it reacted. Im not sure it really cared
My Lab/Ridgeback mix won't necessarily leave unless I crank it WAY up. If he's around already, he stays. If he isn't he doesn't make it a point to come down. He comes in and sniffs the guitars and amps sometimes.
I've had 2 dogs now that will sing with me when I sing chris cornell. Not sure if its singing with me or out of pain or out of worry that I'm dying.
He attacks the amp. Even at very low volume. He also attacks the vacuum, the washing machine, yells at the doorbell, hates storms, and doesn’t piss until he chases all the squirrels and birds out of the yard. He is a terrier and my best friend.
My cat curls up at my feet when I play. She's particularly fond of Wah pedal stuff. She's also a tube snob. I picked up a used (obviously) Lab Series solid state amp and she did not care for it one bit.
Cat clings to me while watching TV, but is nowhere to be found when the strat abuse occurs. Smart kitty.
I'm just here for the dog pics. I'm a dog lover, but I married a lady who is allergic to dogs, so I have to live vicariously through you fellers. Lay all your dog pics on me!
My dog is 15. He doesn't hear as well as he used to. He like to sit right between my feet when I play. He's a good boy.
