Fantastic Strat Blues
That’s because you’re probably too young!!
No.. 67,, that's why I can't believe I missed him some how.
Comment from Jimi
Interviewer : Jimi, what’s it like being the best guitarist in the world? Jimi : I don’t know, you’d best ask Rory Gallagher.
Oh ok... Too old like me to remember then... Alzheimer
Bad penny is my go to jam or laundry mat both killer tunes super fun to play
I was lucky enough to see him four times. In his early years, a master of tone, dynamics, light and shade. Sadly the last time I saw him at the Town and Country Club in north London in the early nineties he had lost his subtlety and I left before the end of the show.
Awesome player greatly missed , fantastic slide player as well .
How is possible I missed this guy.. Rory Gallagher?
Glad you found him, he is a brilliant Strato-Master and one of a kind.
I didn't really discover him until a little later in life too, awe, the wasted years lol!
Prison Blues, I love this song with him on the flat top and with the piano in the mix, just takes you back to when the blues first started. He was great.
Rory Gallagher is sort of like Joe Satriani, both great players but not exactly household names - since their music was never what most would consider to be mainstream...
I was late to the party too LOL
Bad Penny and Bankers Blues are my favorites from him
Too much disco dancing.
I'm 57 and only heard of him maybe 10 years ago. Still can't name one song of his. I've listened to a few on YouTube but that was it.
This what I've been basing pretty much all of my slide playing on:
I only started listening to him fairly recently, but he's already one of my favourite guitarists.
He’s probably in the top 10 of the most underrated, forgotten and awesome blues guitar players.
I started listening to him about 30 years ago myself. And I’m 53.
If you grew up listing to corporate radio, the corporations brainwashed you into thinking that Crapton was god.
They still brainwash you about many things. And not only music.... We have to be smarter (and we are, otherwise we’d be working for a radio station...)
He wasn't really very well known where I grew up in the DC area. I have no idea why he didn't catch on there back then. Probably something to do with producers and lack of promotion.
