Get a keyboard... don't have to hold a thing.

I generally never have experienced this until I got an Ovation with the round back. But actually that's not true, I've gained about 100 lbs in the last two years and my Strat is starting to slide off my lap now when I'm sitting down.

The strat is the most comfortable guitar ever made, and the most comfortable earthly object to touch.

For me, awkward. I tried several times. Drawer liner works well.

That is how I sit with my guitar on the bed or the couch, but my boob hangs over farther than hers. It’s like a weight holding it down at the top. Ah, the privilege of being fat:whistling:

So…apparently, the Sundance Kid actually survived that Bolivian shoot out, found his way to Finland and went straight, performing in how-to videos for the Ministry of Finance in Helsinki?

I play sitting down 90% of the time and I still always have a strap.

There's another thing the OP might try. Besides a lighter or roll of dimes in a front pocket, there's another way that utilizes the strap without actually wearing it. But it needs to be a cotton strap, not leather. Ever hear folks complain how cotton straps pull on their shirts? Well, you can make that work for you if you lay part of the cotton strap between your pant leg and the guitar as it will provide a bit more grip.

I just purchased this cotton strap, not for the above reason, but just because it nicely matched my new AM Pro ll Sunburst.

    It's here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079GYVVQK/?tag=strattalk05-20
