Third time that’s been brought up. I was mistaken, it was damaged during air travel in its case.

I would approach a dumpster with it, approach my car without it.

    .

    It's fixable.

How much is the repaired guitar worth to sell? That will tell you how much you can afford to pay. One way is to look at the price of the pickups, tuner, and bridge on the used market.

I bought a PRS SE a while back that had a break at the neck to body joint from the owner falling on it. I steamed off the rest of the wood still holding the neck on, cleaned it up and reglued. Then I fixed the other issues with it. When I contacted PRS to see if there were any gotchas in the glue they might have used (they use regular wood glue) before I steamed it apart they said 'we don't even do that kind of repair' in their guitar hospital.

If you want to see the gory details ...

    The guitar plays great.

That guitar you are looking at still has a relatively clean break at the body pocket sides. I'd route in a new tongue or a couple of rail strips from the pickup cavity into the neck, that way all the extra strengthening is hidden. Make sure to pick out any cross-fibers that prevent a tight dry fit before adding glue and clamps.

PRS has a factory video or two on the S2 product line where they show gluing up their necks and they get the heels from stacking two small blocks to the neck board and a scarf joint cut to flip the headstock board and create the headstock angle when they glue them all together. Or look into the Gibson SG neck and pocket (short tennon) for how little glue surface there was. So you don't need to get overly complex with the repair to have a good guitar afterward.

I would let the guitar approach a dumpster. Ask yourself if you have better things to do. Breathing may be one of them. :)

Geez you guys have zero sense of adventure. I’ve worked on a trade with him but it will take a few days to make it happen as he’s about an hour south of me.

Looks like the plane crashed. Must be one heck of a case. If I were afraid of flying, I'd want to be wrapped in the case.:D

I'll have you know that Friday night, I think during second set, I tuned from low to high. It was crazy. I also stepped on a pedal with my right foot instead of my left. So yeah, my sense of adventure is just resting up at the moment.
