    Hey there,

hope this is the right place to post this. So, the problem is basically that I have a looper pedal, the RC30 by Boss, which is a pretty nice pedal. Now the only thing that kinda bothers me is that when using it, there is quite some noise coming from it, no matter what amp or guitar I use it with. I tried a few things: Gaving the looper and the amp further from each other, using the 30 bucks original Boss power adapter and of course different power outlets. I recorded two snippets, one with just the guitar and the amp and one with the looper in between.

    Without the looper:

    With the looper:

Do you think that the moise is normal? Whenever I see people using it on youtube etc, it seems to be much more quiet... Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance!

You do get some line noise if you don't have the rhythm and output volumes in sync. Also if you record on the dirty channel with the volume rolled back etc. Loopers generally work best on multi-channel amps imho.

I find Roland/Boss power supplies are noisy. I use 1Spots now. Loopers record any existing noise and then play it back to you, adding to the original.

I've always used a good quality switching psu for my pedals ..
Never had any excessive/non-self inflicted noise.
Its interesting to hear the Boss ones aren't great. Not hugely surprised tho!

I mean I do hate the RC30 .. but for different reasons. :)

I was using the Roland/Boss adapters to power MicroCubes, not pedals, they hummed like a kazoo band, especially for recording, dead quiet with 1Spots.
