Yet another hurricane in the gulf this season is to hit LA then swing towards us after midnight tonight. I think this is #5 this year for the MS, LA, AL coasts.
I made a small pot of seafood gumbo just in case the wife and I decide to have a little hurricane party.:D

Batten down and stay safe. Also take comfort in the fact that the head of NOAA, a real scientist, he just been fired and replaced by another lackey who will tell you it's not really a hurricane, just a little wind with some heavy rain.

Hatches batten down, genny all fueled up, extension cords ran, batteries supply checked, water storage filled, first aid kit stocked. Here's to hoping you won't need any of that stuff. Stay safe and best wishes.

Seafood gumbo is the answer. My Grandma down in SE Texas made a mean bowl of crab gumbo. I gotta dig out her recipe, man that sounds good. Stay safe down there!

Well it's on top of us now and the closest local tv station has been in and out so we've been monitoring the weather radio. The tv station is now running on generator back up and are telling us Zeta is moving faster than first predicted and we should be over it in an hour or so.
It's getting a little rough so shutting everything down and will assess things at first light.
    Thanks again everyone.
