Advertised as a used Strat for a really cheap price... I dropped by a local mom and pop music place to see it. Turns out, it is NOS - in the original from Fender shipping box, in the Fender case, UPS ship date 3/15/04 from Corona CA to the store I was standing in. They said they deal in mostly band instruments and it had just been sitting in the back... I thought it was an in need of much love Strat given the low price, but today was my unreal lucky day!!! I got a new Strat for what some nice Asian guitars cost and a fraction of a new US Strat!

It's an American Series (not called standard in 2000-2007) Stratocaster. Serial is 2003 or 2004. Won't know 1000% date until I take apart, but given the ship date, I am thinking this is a 2004 model. Black, Alder body and Maple and Rosewood neck with the modern block 2 point trem. Pretty sure the pickguard will be off color from the film and stickers, but I can live with that! It sounds great even with almost 17 year old strings on it! Enjoy the pics!

Built about the time the one my wife bought me for my 50th in October 2004. Can’t remember the changes from the Standard that preceded it but, save for locking tuners, mine’s stockk and I’ve never felt the need to mod it. You are a lucky man!
