Today marks my completing my 68th "trip around the sun". It certainly was not uneventful. I always take that time to do a bit of introspection on "what did I learn this year".
I reaffirmed that I could learn new skills when I became a graphic photo-editor, working in layers, recolouring and so much more. My guitar playing skills certainly got amped up too, along the way, although I really miss performing with a band.
I learned that these pandemic times, brought me closer to my partner-in-antics. She still hasn't thrown me off the penthouse balcony, so that's a good thing. We are also so much closer to our kids (while maintaining social distance). I have learned to appreciate my family even more.
I took stock of the NFP (Not-For-Profit) work and my clients and have such respect and admiration for them all. Their bravery during thesis difficult times, fuels me to do more for them.
I still haven't learned to give myself a break. I seem to be more demanding on myself and try and always remember that we all work at different paces. Translated - encourage others to reach their maximum potential. We all hold ourselves to higher even if different standards.
I don’t know how many trips I've got left, but I certainly will make the best of them.
Peace out - JP
