Saddle retainer wire.I put one on my 335ish from GF.. works fine. I do have a question though, whats that wire across the bridge on yours supposed to be doing?

Gibson has ABR bridges without the wire. That’s what I have on at least one of my gibsons.Saddle retainer wire.
On closer inspection of Nate's photo, there is an arc to the wire. It should lay perfectly flat.I'm pretty certain the wire is the culprit.
Do you have a wireless ABR on your -335? That’s what I have on one of my other -335’s and the bridge is dead quiet.I don't even have a wire on mine. It just means you need to be a little careful when changing strings, although a breakage on stage could get a bit awkward if you didn't see where the saddle pinged off to. @Nate D, Stewmac sells a replacement wire for $1.46. Or if you're hardly with pliers, you should be able to take the kink out. https://www.stewmac.com/parts-and-h...-wire-for-original-abr-1-tune-o-matic-bridge/
On my -355 I get this weird metallic ping most noticeably on the G string, but definitely present on the B and High E as well. It even has the ping if you play a note very staccato. The guitar has a bigsby and the ping seems to come somewhere from the bridge.
Any other Gibson type users come across this issue and have a trouble shooting suggestions?
I’ll check them out… otherwise I’m going with a wireless ABR and nylon saddles (ducking!!!)
Yes, Nate. It's a Rusty Anderson model, and he insisted it was a 59 period-correct replica of his own 335. That said, I've had other Gibsons with the wire, and never had a problem.Do you have a wireless ABR on your -335? That’s what I have on one of my other -335’s and the bridge is dead quiet.
