I suck at mixing. I feel like mixing something.

Well, I have put a lot of work in, but it's just maybe possible that deaf/cyborg/one eared humans can't mix. At the same time I really enjoy it.

I feel like mixing something. I have used stuff from that Cambridge site for practice on occasion but mostly have not really enjoyed it. Made a new template recently, feel like mixing. Anyone have any other sites to recommend for stuff to work on?

It took me many years to train my ears to mix. It just takes a lot of practice and constructive feedback.

Diet Coke and Jack was much easier to learn to mix.

I have no ears. It complicates the process. Good lord, you are in Mesquite....

Found a 2 minute punk song to mess with. There are some elements that sound really good but some of it sounds no better than junk we have done here in the spare room.

What DAW do you mix on? Do you post your mixes to a users group site for others to critique?

Most of my learning to mix went through that process of learning through experienced peers.

Both the Presonus Studio One users and Cakewalk users are pretty active in their user forums.

Screw that. I feel badly enough about myself without unvetted yahoos on my mix.

Here it is. The files were pretty good. I guess I have spent an hour and a half on the project. I did not do all the automation that needed doing and my mixing location is super screwed so I would expect there to be super odd stuff down low.

I haven't heard your mixes for quite a while. What you need now is some confidence build ups. What can you do with a set of mixing tools. what techniques works all the time?

There are great mixes, and there is great music. I know a lot of Mike Senior Resque stuff is "fix it in the mix" on not so great songs. The ideal situation will always be good recordings.
Maybe there is an online depository for such things? Found these, didn't check if they are free or not.
