I think my Line 6 AX2 212 has a built in noise gate

    My 1997 vintage Line 6 AX2 212 seens to have a built in noise gate...Absolutely no line noise or hum even from unshielded single cool puck ups ...remarkable!old house with a 3 prong adaptor!

    The Kidney had one. I would fully expect the amp to have one. It can be turned off though.

    Didn't think that was possible!The Bugera is a fine amp but it hummed a lot with single coil pick ups!

    Google 'secret controls' and your amp model.

    I used to hate the L6 Spider practice amps until I found that. Turned off the internal noise gate on one I got with a guitar trade and it's been my regular quick jump on and go amp when I only have ten minutes to noodle.
