Henley itself is lovely, but has stratospherical prices; however, some of the outlying towns aren't quite as brutal. Sonning Common (NB - not the same as Sonning - that's expensive, George Clooney and Teresea May live there) has some decent houses, is in the middle of lovely countryside. Three pubs too! Shiplake is pretty nice. I lived in Emmer Green too, on the Henley side of Reading - town one side, country the other. If you want more info on the area, drop me a PM!

PS if you ever gig in the town hall, get a good soundman - it's got the *worst* acoustics I've ever heard from stage!!!

Next time you're north of the wall, could you bring this back for me?

I'm so far south that we don't even have a north.

Hey, I live in Mansfield which I thought was the epitome of grim.
I went to Gosport yesterday (near Fareham/Southampton) and I thought I was in Basra again.
I've never seen such a run down place in the UK.
I wish I'd taken some pictures. Really, really, grim A/f.

    That's 70 miles from London ..

Should come live in Jersey. As far south as south goes in Britain.

I know, had a meal there, and the squashed bee gee wouldn’t stop bothering me... I was with an eye wateringly hot blonde though.

I have to say that Gosport is pretty grim, the best place to be
Used to have some great scraps there after throwing out time then escape on the Ferry before the cops turned up.:D

Nothing is as grim as Croydon though.

I thought Gosport was bad but Croydon? anywhere in the North would be better, wait, would they notice if we exported the place lock, stock & barrel on a dark night?

Nearly died in Hastings when I was 6. Had a fractured skull at the pontins holiday camp, still remember being driven to hospital in a transit van because they didn't want to wait for an ambulance.
