I second that, but really only like 450 channels, because 90% of the time, the same movie playing on two channels.

IDK .. the whole "8 min" part of this thread made me realize (for the 159 time in my life) that 300000km/s isn't that fast when you have to cover a proper distance in outer space. Maybe one day (three gazillion years from now :D), c will become what Mach is today ... something pretty cool, but not that great! :D

Well I don't know about that. A quick trip out to Pluto would take about 5 hours, and getting to the nearest star and back would take about the same time as it took the voyager probes just to get out of our solar system. It's pretty quick! :)

That 8 minutes is for light that has reached the sun's surface. The Rogue has it correct as it takes anywhere from 10,000 to 100,000 years for the light from the fusion reactions in the core to reach the surface. So global warming, or cooling, it has already been decided thousands of years in the past. (You really don't think the lies we are being fed about man made warming have any basis in reality, do you?)

Kind of puts some perspective on the whole 'aliens' debate we had a while back though. Then again, I think the 'believers' were assuming use of worm holes. The day we find a worm hole, that's gonna open up a whole new can of......:)

Another Playboy subscriber? ha ha :D

Wow that boggles the mind. So there's all this light which can't escape because the photons can't find a way out?

Ummm..global warming is caused by what our mechanized society has done to Earth's atmosphere and not anything that has happened to the Sun. We've had no impact on the Sun. But we have had a huge impact on earths environment. The Sun just keeps pumping out light in various frequency waves and heat. It's what we have done to earths natural light filtering system that is one of the big causes of global warming. That and the build up of pollutants in the environment.

My gripe is when there's so much crime, death and destruction each day. Why does the news report celebrity hairstyles and things that have absolutely no bearing on anything whatsoever.

"Breaking news, the world is going to sh*t, but Jennifer Aniston has a new boyfriend! Lets see what Paris Hilton is doing today. Oops, Lindsey Lohans in rebab again. And Taylor Swift recorded a scathing song about John Mayer called "dear John." <---true btw

Meanwhile the war continues, millions and millions of americans are homeless (which WILL increase crime), the politicians are screwing us with a dry one, and does anyone care or protest? Nope. But lets see what color Lindsey dyed her hair this week.

Get me off this crazy rock.
