Not at all the same, the SQ from 'the same era' is alder or ash

YOURS is 100% for sure basswood.

Fender or Squier Japan? What model is this? What serial number letter prefix?

The photo is really bad the weight is very similar in both guitars 3.4(1st) and 3.5 kg for this one. What do you think there is quality difference between fender st62-65 jv and squier export jv?

Yes, each guitar had different specs and price points.....not every 'EX' stamped body is the same wood....

I don't think there is a quality difference, there is a wood species difference.....

I can't tell the body wood from those photos, looks like basswood but might be alder....I would need shots of it straight on like you showed me on the other ones....

I can't tell any sound difference between any body wood, and I would be happy with basswood myself, just as much as alder or anything else....I would even be happy with Squier bodies with Agathis wood or Nato or Nyatoh or Poplar from the last 15 years.....

On a side note, is that a replacement neck? Or pickguard? It looks like a pickguard for a heal truss rod adjustment but the neck on it is not a heal adjusted truss rod neck. So is one or the other replaced?

That IS a heel adjusted truss rod neck....vintage style 1982-1984 Squier model.....

pickguard is stock.....

If you meant THIS one pic, that's a photo of a 1970s style 3 bolt 'bullet truss rod' reissue in black, not same guitar as other pics in the first post....
