Take it that way if you must, but that's not how it was intended. OP was trying to start a lighthearted, fun thread about a guitar player's favorite subject... new toys!... and it just feels to me as if it's being pulled way out of context.
Yes, I’m sure the OP had no bad intent. Agreed. (And just so it’s clear, this is not sarcasm).
Because unlike your cuontry and situation, We have a social security framework which supports our citizens a great deal - I guess you just cannot apply "we" in context.
I commend you for being in healthcare, it is an admirable profession. I think it is the sensitive subject of using stimulus money for discretionary spending and for keeping your home and feeding your family is where the disconnect is. It is just not an appropriate discussion. Everyones situation is different.
Bills or anything put off by this pandemic.
I didn't stack up on toilet paper, being the clown I am.
I'll have to recoup also for the money spent on can goods.
I look at it this way: if they're going to send the checks, then they're going to send the checks. It's really intended for people who are in trouble, but they're sending it to everyone under a certain income level. Most of us are going to get one. If we don't need the money for necessities, what do you actually think is going to happen?
Many are missing the point of this money, it's not only meant to replace lost wages, it's also meant to be put pack into circulation to help businesses recoup lost income.
Yes I understand that, I am simply pointing out that there are people likely on this forum who will not be able to meet there financial obligations even with the stimulus check. So to have a discussion about who is going to buy a guitar should there situation allow that is just not appropriate. Do what you want with it but be aware that there are people reading this and thinking I am going to lose my home and these people are talking about buying a guitar. Some things should be kept to yourself.
The money is meant to make persons whole who missed work and also to stimulate the economy.
I've been working through this, but Hurricane Harvey cost me a lot of money with no kind of reimbursement.
We've all paid a lot in taxes, and it's about time a little money flowed back to the common man instead of just bailing out corporations.
Now let's pull together and whip this thing and get back to normal.
seeing that this is a mod request then we have no choice but to buy gear
It has been passed. The House will vote on it now.
Here is some info on the individual payments. If you have already filed your 2019 taxes and the IRS has your bank information, you are most likely to receive your check soon.

I want to split it up and give half to my mom and half to my wife’s mom. They can use the help more than we can.
Straight to savings, if I even get a check.
Everyone listen to Lonn, he's the Admin....
I’ll be buying a new guitar and my fiancé a new kitchen sink, single bowl stainless steel sink and industrial faucet lol. We just updated all the appliances in the kitchen and a new backsplash so gotta do the sink to top it off for her lol.
She plans to put her 1200 in savings lol. Yeah she’s wanting to stimulate our savings lol. So in turn I buy her a new sink/faucet and I buy a decent used guitar.
