The world is flat enough to be on the horizon, the planetary bodies of the solar system rotate like that. The sun will eventually rise & set for anyone & it will be spectacular. Full Hunter's moon coming in a couple/few days. Hoping for clear skies, cooler evenings with no clouds.
I too share this hobby with my son. For a while, I was just buying or handing down gear to him. But he got me back into playing in the last few years, and that led to replacing older gear or things I have handed down to him. I am pretty happy with what I have, but like you, there are a more couple guitars I would like to have that have eluded me, and there is always one pedal out there that would complete my sound!I started playing in 1983. From 1989 to 2008 I was a one or 2 guitar kind of guy.
Then I suddenly had more time to play the guitar and since 2008 I have improved greatly. I studied Classical for 5 years From 2008. So I had a couple of more guitars (Nylon String Classicals).
I went back to electric at the urging of my son. Then I started buying more guitars. Finding new ones. Buying and trading.m playing with my son. Got my grand kids involved. Bought them guitars.
But I find about half of the guitars I buy tend to be ones that I wanted in the past. They are good little nostalgia machines, and take me back to better days gone past.
Good chance though that aging will force us to be less happy if we have traditional heavy gear and our backs go bad on us.I’n not. Not if I’m happy with what I have.
