Love your name Randy Lahey Lmfao
I love everything about my choice except for the vintage frets... next day i recieve it Id have them changed to medium jumbos or jumbos lol.
Just gotta find one that wasn't like that. There were many that didn't have it.
No streaks on mine, check the 2017 Elite out on the left.
See I've not found it that much of an issue. My tele is a 7.25 and my MIJ Strat is 7.25 but I've been able to move between them all without any issue, I even play thumb over the top most of the time too. I can definitely understand and trepidation though if 7.25 is your favourite radius as I felt the same before getting my EJ
Custom Shop 1959 Journeyman Limited Edition is a mother of a guitar. It has ancho poblano pickups Which are superb. Big neck takes a bit of getting used to but adds loads of natural sustain. Mine is Olympic White. No longer in production but worth looking around for a used one.
I would go for AVRI 62 in Sherwood green. Looks magical.
I’m disappointed with Fender at present. The modern C neck was the best they ever made, and it was dropped when they discontinued, the American Standard, Corona made line. That neck profile is still offered on a few CA made models, but with the fat headstock, which I hate. If I was to buy a new Strat or Tele, it would be the Player line, as it has the modern C neck profile. I can then upgrade electronics or pickups, if I desired. Make that a Tidepool or Polar White, for me.
I’ve always said one guitar could be beautiful for someone or awful for somebody else.
For me, my FSR Black Standard Stratocaster HSS is the perfect guitar. When I saw it, it has the perfect color combination to me. Excellent construction, flawless, no neck pocket gap, small headstock, I love how those ceramic pickups sound.
Perhaps it could be better... the same guitar (specs and everything), custom shop with tone control for the humbucker bridge and bone nut, I’m not sure about the pickups, I really like this ones.
I have an ultra hss in texas tea; the guitar is not only beautiful to look at, but it plays and sounds fantastic as well!
If it is a non CS definitely an American original 60’s
2000 Squier Affinity Indonesian Cort , electric blue, rosewood fingerboard, walnut skunk stripe, frets leveled, crowned & polished, Grover 18:1 non-locking tuners, red, silver, blue Lace Sensor PUs, CTL pots, Mallory orange-drop caps with treble bleed resistors, improved coaxial wiring, .065 copper multiple-point-grounded shielding, cheapo 3-layer perloid pick and trem covers, dual tower string trees, 3-spring Galeaza Frudua-adjusted full-float trem, feeler guage adjusted relief and action, Peterson strobe adjusted intonation, Da'Addario 10-46 strings and Dunlop Strap-locks.
But I don't need to buy a new one, I already have the PERFECT Strat!
player strat last month
I would definitely get a PRS Silver Sky in either Orion Green or Dodgem Blue.
I'd look for a mint used AV59. Or maybe 65. I like the slab board, but not sure about the neck. I know I like the mid 60s neck profile.
Or, since in this thread everything is free, a CS order that's got all those specs, plus a quartersawn neck, and a cracked nitro finish.
(Hmm, suspiciously like my current CS 63...)
So, really, I guess I'm all set. Can I get a CS Jazzmaster instead, a '62 spec? Yeah? OK, great, thanks!
THAT!!! Is Beautiful. I'd hit that.
Engage the sustainer and it will hit you right back, f-o-r-e-v-e-r!
What a beauty !!!
I had to google "EOB Strat". I am still WTFing.
If this would have stayed limited to current production models, I would have said AO60s in 3TSB.
I bought the first AO60 neck I saw parted out on eBay for a project.
