I'm having a minor GAS flare up. I wanna get another Squier, but I’m not sure what I should pick. Perhaps you all can help me decide.

I would choose a Vintage Modified , for sure!! If I couldn't get a new one I would go Classic Vibe, failing that, a Standard , not much help lol.

Well I'm still pretty stunned by the quality of the used Chinese 50s Classic Vibe Tele I recently bought. Ok, its not a new one, 2012, but the build quality is damn hard to believe. Definitely 5***** from me, for what is supposedly a budget type guitar.

@Thrup'ny Bit 's recently bought one too, so hopefully he'll chime in.. :thumb:

Yup, best Squier I've played since 1983 when my mate bought a JV.

I was pretty blown away by the pictures of vintage modified 70s that @texasinNY uploaded in another thread, showing the quality of parts used in his guitar. I'm seriously considering one of those.

I am a real fan of the new Bullets. Huge value for just over $100. I don't mod them at all. The pricing is rock bottom, when I want a new color etc... I gift it away, and get another.

The Squier contemporary series Strat with a Floyd Rose and active pickups looks interesting to me !

Does it have to be new? I once had a Squier VM Telecaster Special. It was like this one:

I traded it away because I couldn't get along with the slotted tuners. I got a good return for my trade -- an Epiphone Nighthawk -- but the Tele Special is one of the few guitars I wish I still had. I don't think they are being made anymore, though.

    .

This is an Affinity MIC early 2000s. At least three prior owners, bridge hacked like a Frankenstrat larger than a pickguard could cover so rescued it as a grocery bag of parts when I got it. I inlayed the maple and walnut then took off the repaint done, plugged the extra holes drilled in the headstock, new pickups and rewired. Installed a 4-way, treble bleed, and grease bucket.

One of the few chunky neck Squiers. For me that is the key to any of the Squiers. If you want chunky necks you need to search hard. If you like skinny carved necks then just buy whatever the latest Bullet or Affinity and throw some mods at it (pots, caps, jack, switch, tuners -- I leave pickups because the other stuff controls the toanz).

Strangely the old style tuners are my favorite feature of my VM!

Standard Telecaster. The folks over at Squier Talk tell me that it's the best value in my price range. First I gotta sell my Ibanez Artcore AF85 VLS, nice guitar but I never play it.
