You have to visit "Widelec" restaurant , they make delicious and tasty burgers

Buy a pack of gingerbread or ginger cake. Sweet and crunchy

Drink a wine called "Fresco", it is soft wine and really refreshing

You will love these and find many more :D

I've met lots of nice Polish folk over the years and heard lots of stories about the country and seen pics of how lovely it can be. Poland is definitely on my "bucket list". I want to see Morskie Oko Lake and the mysterious castles and the upside down house in Szymbark and other such places but I think I'll be going for the local cuisine rather than burgers as nice as they may be. Perhaps on my second visit I will:D

Oh, did I say that my "bucket list" is on hold:rolleyes:

Been to upside down house, felt like huge hangover lol.

About local cuisine, well it changes , as a Polish dude i eat half British breakfast and Half Polish. Bakes toast with lots of cheese and hot beans in tomato sauce, no beacon since i dont like it. Most of my breakfest do not consist meat, only lunch does. No tea, i pick coffee for breakfast

What i dont like about my country is lack od good movies. We have great games but our movies awful mostly

Oh and Mayoness guitars in Gdańsk, they have had line of Telecasters and Strats called Flame Mayoness

One thing I loved in Polish gas stations was their take on a ballpark dog (but way better in quality). It was a bun like a tube with one end closed. They add mustard and/or ketchup or mayo, and slide the dog in the bun.

Don't remember the name but they were so satisfying on top of being quick & cheap.

Try some Polish ice cream. The Poles make some awesome ice cream.

OTOH, it CAN be all about vodka and bigos...

Sounds tasty! Once the UK’s properly out of Europe we can have our sausages back. At the moment we have to refer to them as ‘high fat emulsified offal tubes’

That's how they serve hot dogs in France, and the "bun" always seems to be a section of baguette so the darn things taste really good.

Then there's the German "currywurst" which is also great, with fries.

When I was in my twenties I dated a girl from Warsaw named Valeri who taught economics at Cal State San Francisco, then SFSU. We went to lunch at the Mark Hopkins hotel one afternoon and as we passed the lobby desk she became enraged at a sign posted over an ankle high brass rail with several pairs of shoes on it. She thought it was some sort of xenophobic slight. The sign read "Polish Bar." After I explained it to her, she spat out. "Stupid English and all its homophones."
