your more likely to go missing than have a good time. I'm not kidding its been in the news so often that tourists are being found dead while being in the DR.

It's funny. When I was a kid, I wanted this:

As an older man, I want this:

I buy a vintage Super Reverb for like 800 bucks and then use the remaining 9k to pay someone to carry it for me! Great sounding amps!

Yes they are. But i ran out of money to pay someone to carry it for me, and my shoulder sold it while I was asleep one day.

Sad to say I sold mine too...a 1973...for the same reason. Doesn't mean I don't miss it though.

I’d buy the 5-watt Monoprice and bank the rest.

That's not going to be nearly enough money.

This looks exactly like the amp I chose to test guitars through during my last trip to Guitar Center because I just wanted a simple, basic amp (it was also my first foray into tubes) and all the rest had a gazillion knobs. It sounded amazing and was priced pretty reasonably, but sadly I'm not in the market for amps.

Friedman BE-50, spend the rest on gold.

I was talking to sales guy at the music store about amps. Something a bit quieter than my 135 watt SFTR. He says, yeah, we all go through thi . Start with some small crappy amp then get the urge for the big iron, Marshall stacks etc. Then we start going smaller again " . Hard to argue with that logic

With $10k to play with......I think I'd have a boutique amp builder design and build me an amp with:

    4 preamp channels switchable (1.blackface clean, 2.tweed, 3.jcm800, 4.Mesa)
Effects loop (series and parallel switchable)
    Variable negative feedback
Variable power output tube ability (6V6/5881/EL34/6V6 etc.)
Reverb and tremolo on all channels
    50 watt/4X10 (2 Celestion Creamback/2 Weber Alnico California speakers)
    Easy accessible bias trimpots

    Did I cover everything?

Then buy two and a half of them. Run stereo, and use the third for parts. Oops I forgot tax and shipping. Just buy two.

A Standel 25L15. With enough change leftover for a hollowbody to go with it to get my "Travis" groove on!

I'd buy a used Fender Frontman and use the other $9,990 to go and drink lots of Guinness and other beers with my friends at the EuRoguestock jams. :)
