If that's a serious question... it's an Apple ( Ipod, Iphone ) app that has the rest of the band on tap for you.

There are tons of drummers on Fiverr doing exactly what people are asking for. The whole thing with regard to people helping out is not just a matter of playing, it's a matter of having a kit miked up and ready to go along with the rest of the recording equipment. Honestly, that's where the rub is in all this. Obviously, some of Fiverr are all set up.

Jazz midi files are hard to come by. I might be able to come up with some…

I haven't used GB for a while. When I was just doing stuff by myself I'd use the drummer to give me something to play off and then I'd replace it because the drummer never plays what you really want in the end. I usually do what TSims1 suggested using the keyboard. Then I go into the piano roll and fix it.

Drum sample library’s can be very useful with v-drums, or such , with a good drummer ,
the tone is pretty good on most.
Any included midi files only go so far. And a dead giveaway you used a sampler included midi file…

Getting a good drummer to use the software, I can pretty much have any beat that can be played.
And also the ability to change drum kit pieces after tracking…

I don’t think the sampler should be judged only on included midi files…
And midi files can be found, done by great drummers fairly cheep.

compared to mic up a kit, all the mic pre’s and mics, the room, the assistant and a tracking engineer…and on and on….

I think a drum sampler and midi files are different animals…

    but that’s just me.

really its just a DAW like most others... a baby Logic Pro... it doesnt exactly have the "rest of the band on tap..." like Band in a box, or a Trio pedal...

    Wow!!

I switched from GB to Reaper a few years ago so it's been a while but I would have absolutely used that if I knew about it. Game changer.

I write my own drum tracks in GarageBand, tweaking the attack and sometimes moving the odd beat here and there out slightly in order to give it some feel. I’m quite happy with the result. NEVER used one of the pre-recorded loops though…..

I sometimes demo to loops, work out chord changes and timing……and then go back and build a custom track after the fact. Another way to work efficiently when songwriting.
