    It depends on the guitar and amp I’m playing and the style of the song. There is usually a sweet spot in the mix but where it is varies a lot.

    i would probably start out by playing the F major scale all over the place.:sneaky:

    play the changes. if its a song, the melody is a pretty nice place to start.

    It depends what the other chords are. There are 3 different minor modes, and there's the harmonic minor stuff too (and those have modes as well). So yeah, play around with the melody, that's the only "obvious" choice.

    D minor scale
    F major scale
    D mi triad
    F maj triad
    C shape F maj arpeggio
    F maj triad on D, B, E string at the nut alternating with F Sus2 by lifting middle finger
    8000 notes per minute.
    If you know the chords you can play the changes.
    Pentatonics.
    Hexatonics.

    There's a few ideas.

    Call me crazy, but I like the D minor scale for D minor progressions.

    Also D dorian.
