Been a miserable, ****ty, bad sci fi movie going on almost a year. Needed something to perk me up. Trigger has been pulled. Now the agonizing decision: which strat to put'em in.
Well if you like then you could get more for your other Strat But congrats, and your right after a crap year one deserves to treat themselves
Have fun deciding, have more fun installing and enjoy playing through them! All 20 days thus far? Today was certainly a great day.
Congrats! Sometimes giving in to the gas is quite healing. I’m still warm and fuzzy about buying my PRRI. Enjoy!
Cool. People tell me the Golds are the best ones for a sweet Strat tone. I have three different Lace pickups in the Strat I mostly use for recording: Red, Silver and Blue. They're more humbucker-like, but I've had them in the same guitar for years now, and they always deliver. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Three Golds in my Strat Plus. They’ve been there since it was built, and they’ll continue to make sweet sounds. I think they are keepers.
I never saw the need to change original factory height, but it might be worth a little experimenting. Since they don’t pull on the strings as much ( from what I’ve heard ), supposedly you can put them high up. I’ll take a picture of mine tomorrow and post it here.
Great choice in pup's I think you'll really like them. I adjusted the Hot Golds in my HWY1 to Lace's tip and left them there: "ADJUSTMENT TIP: For optimum tone and output from our Sensors, we recommend adjusting the height to .170" from string to pickup, or approx. the height of 2 dimes and a nickel. (REMEMBER string thickness applies to height - use bottom of string closest to pickup for measurement.) Music Styles: Vintage Rock, Blues, Country, and R&B, Funk" Of course, your mileage may vary
