I checked the intonation on my beautiful new Trans Sapphire Blue Deluxe (they're not off much, only 1 or2 strings by one bar). I tried the only Phillip's screwdriver we have in the house and it's too big, a #2 iirc (sad, huh?)

I can't get out much (even before the pandemic) so I'm trying to order online a Phillip's screwdriver to adjust the intonation screws.

Anybody know by size what I'd need?

a #2 works for me every time....I need to loosen string tension before turning it though.....especially if tightening the screw.....

Thanks guys, that gives me a good direction. Maybe the one I have is a #3 or even #4. But I think I'll (try to) order #1 and/or #0. ;)

Thanks again guys. You are  :thumb:

    I would bet you have a #2. It’s
    the most common size.

I'm sure Stewmac does a special version just for adjusting intonation, only $99 plus shipping...

Might as well get yourself a cheap set with a few sizes, or a multi tool with different sizes and tips like hex etc. too, never know when you might need another one in future.

That's like trying to find a flathead in my house. I needed one yesterday and didn't feel like digging through my toolboxes outside. I eventually found what appears to be the only one in the house...with all of my guitar tools & stuff lol.

You need a Phillips? I've got 12 of those. Not all #2, either :D I might even have a couple of JIS, Frearsons, and Pozidrivs too.

This is the second "screw driver" thread I've read in less than a week.
You guys have any idea how inexpensive a SET of screw drivers is?
Believe it or not in my area (Iowa, United States of America) I can go to Home Depot, Menards, Blaine's Farm & Fleet, and even Walmart; and find an entire set of screw drivers in any one or two of those stores at any given time of the year for under $5 US dollars.
So far Covid19 has not shut those "essential" stores down...and my Government hasn't put a lock and chain on my house or vehicle, so I guess I have it a little easier than some.
Everyone stay safe...and when you get a chance, stock up on tools.

    Repeated because this is important.
Any saddle adjustment, whether intonation or saddle height, needs to be done with the tension released.
Each string puts between 15 and 20 pounds of tension on the saddle. Adjustment without loosening the string can easily result in stripped out screw heads.
