There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our P*******l and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge
Far too few examples of intellectualism on this forum where it didn't eventually end up getting emotional to make a case.
If "anal retentive" is a euphemism for "insists on basing arguments in actual reality and known science rather than meth-fueled fever dreams", then yes, it is.
And that's my total contribution to this topic, because otherwise the entire forum may shut down, not just the thread...
