I don't have kids, so as I get close to the end (if I see it coming) I'll start gigging with my 63 strat more. (Still a long time off I hope!!!)

Hell, if know I'm going to die the next die I might even set it on fire and smash it on stage :D

It's gone down in value considerably over the last ten years.

The utter nonexistence of my 2-tone burst '57 with its sweet V neck profile and gentle wear-and-tear bugs the living daylights out of me.

I'm really bothered by the '55 I want to buy and can't afford... mentally, it's mine...

I have a -64 that has a big mark on the lower horn that bugs me! It´s not only the paint but some wood also missing...I wonder what the previous owner had done. Any suggestions? Some serious rock´n roll of any kind maybe? bild.JPG

That's from the guitar moving around in its case while driving thousands of miles. The soft lining in the case must have worn though

I find neck gap to be annoying.... when I first got my 64' the neck would shift ever so slightly if I got to carried away.... so I slightly loosened the screws, tuned it up, tightened the screws and place a small shim in the gap. Unlike my 65' SG Jr that some ass replaced the tuners with schalers.... fortunately I was able to cover up the screw holes with repro tuners, but the face of the headstock has obvious marks from those damn schalers!!!!!!!!

  9. Absolutely... the fact that she has not come to me yet. Just like the perfect mate, I know she's out there... waiting to be careesed by my strong hands and tender...
Ah- sorry. Got carried away in the dream.

There are things which bug me about my '63 Strat, but my thoughts soon turn to how much of it survived through the years, and on how lucky I am to be it's new custodian.

I love everything about my CAR 65 but......

    Too valuable to gig.
    I'd prefer a 5 way switch - miss the 2 and 4 position sounds.
Doubts that the blonde with black ends tolex case is original for 65 - but who knows!

    Still I'm not complaining! 20170314_174100.jpg

My 63 has an all black case (64-65 style) - happy to swap if you want to put things right! ;)

Pfft! That was last year's dilemma. Now I'm more concerned that @crashbelt and me have got each other's cases! :(

That is a dilemma indeed Jazz Bass! We will have to live with the hardship of wrong cases - life can be hard (British ironic sense of humour!). 20170322_092828.jpg
