For the record, among the electrics I currently own are two strats - a 2017/18 stock AmPro SSS:

And this 2017 MIM Std HSS (a steal at $399 new):

I've been finding that over the past couple of months, the AmPro pretty much sits in its case under my bed while I play the MIM all the time. There's just something about the playability and tones I'm getting from the un-subtle ceramic pickups on the MIM that work much better for me musically. While I enjoy the rolled fingerboard, locking trem bar, and other refinements on the AmPro, I just seem to be bonding more with the MIM, to the point where I'm seriously contemplating unloading the AmPro. Is this a sickness? Is there a cure?

That’s why they make more than one kind of stratocaster!

Nope!!! Nothing wrong at all. I love my MIM's. Great necks, easy setups for great playability and wonderful tones. I wouldn't trade mine for the world.

No need to beat yourself up! I get most use from a Warmoth partsocaster, a cheap acoustic and an Ibanez bass. My 86 MIJ Strat, Variax and very expensive Gibson 335 get nothing like the same fret-wear. :)

You need a third One so you can compare it to the others

I’ll take that AmPro off your hands if it needs a new home that badly, as long as it’s already had all it’s shots and won’t cost me much to take in.:whistling:

You like what you like, you love what you love. There is no accounting for taste.

Some people have to have fancy champagne, other people are ok with beer.
Some people have to have craft beer, others like the cheap stuff.

If your taste runs cheap, then you're blessed.

Love he green colour! The obvious cure would be to send my AmPro and take the load off your shoulders! No need to thank me, I'd do it for anyone!

    No nothing wrong with you.

We all get hung up on labels and brands sometimes, it's how it feels/sounds that is important. Sell what you don't play and use that money to buy pedals!

Sorry Mr Thomquietwolf , I think you'll find that I have proposed a much more reasonable solution

The American models aren't necessarily better for everyone. Play what you like.

Well, generally speaking, the urge to sell a guitar is a worrying sign, but you’re probably ok. Follow your heart...

I traded my new AmPro for a new MIM. No regrets, other than a few dollars wasted.

For me, it was about the neck. Dig the MIM neck, the AmPro neck not so much.

You like what you like, don’t fight it.

Variety is the spice of life!

I'd only say there was something wrong if you only had one strat ;)

Btw, that is a good looking MIM burst

Nothing wrong with that. I don't take my MIA out of the case, I play my Squiers.
