I voted buy the blue online However, I'd probably buy the surf green if it felt and sounded right to me...a bird in the hand. I do not have that anything near that color vs having two different blues already. Your shop selection in Prague sounds about like it is around here...I end up buying my guitars online.

Maybe you need to think of one of these. It's the first thing I thought of when I bought my surf green Tele.

    .

Buy a neck and body separately and get the parts assembled.
Stratosphere/ebay -like sites local to you may have loaded bodies etc to start with.
If you're not the most handy you can still assemble and then take it to your local guitar tech for final setup and tweaking.

Or buy this green guitar, find a new body to swap in, and make it one you really like to play and be seen with.

As much as I hate to advise people that color choice and headstock bias should just be ignored if it bothers them, don’t ignore it. If you don’t like the color now, maybe it grows on you or maybe it bothers you every time you look at the guitar affecting your enjoyment of something you dropped good money on. Fender is a factory producer. Their guitars are supposed to be the same coming out. Now you know which model you like, find one online in a different color (but make sure they have a return policy because we all know every guitar isn’t the same).

All my purchases are online for my music needs. I research what I want and shop around.
So I'd be ordering the Daphne Blue one. Good luck in your choice.

I have no Tele. I have a natural (blond) Epiphone Sheraton and a very dark green Yamaha Revstar. I actually bought the Revstar online.

OP, you need to reconcile the fact that surf green is actually the coolest color available. :p

Well, you may not care for it but, I grabbed one (strat) 69647564_2423909714329864_307809985297907712_o.jpg in the late 80s, sold it and missed it so much that I built another.

I had a similar experience in 2018. Walking into a guitar shop I spotted a new American Performer Telecaster. The color was nice but everything else was not what I thought a Telecaster should have. It had 22 huge jumbo frets, a neck humbucker, was alder, silver Fender logo and some new fangled tuners and pickups.

Then I plugged it it. Wow, did it play and sound great! I bought it.

Don’t buy with your eyes. Buy with your hands and ears. That Tele is my number one.

I play them to make music. It isn't a lime green pair of jeans and a neon pink shirt. :)

Really, not trying to be a butthole, but why did you get pass the second line in the second paragraph? You dont like any aspect of it, including the color?

Why is it even an issue with you? I like every guitar I own, no matter what the color, etc.. it's the guitar it's self. The pickups, controls, etc. I'm not even sure what your question is. Seriously, I would just pass, if I thought the color was barf inducing, much less the sound and playability.
Not trying to be a jerk, I promise you, but if I found the greatest Strat or Tele in the world, and it was painted barf yellow, with an S shaped neck, I'd be happy... good luck..:D

    Update:

Ok, after much soul searching (well, not really, just realised I'd subconsciously decided), I bought the Daphne blue one online, with a parchment pickguard. I'm so glad I did, this one has a 2021 SN and feels even better than the one in the shop did (seems it didn't hang on a wall for 18 months of lockdowns), and without the yucky colour...

Needs a bit of a setup (some buzz on the low E and A) but otherwise doing great.

If it bugs you a lot, then don't buy it, BUT...

I bought my first MIM Strat way back in 97 when it was like 52% off and they only had Sonic Blue or that pale yellow color. I didn't think either was cool enough for me at the time, but it was the only way to get a real Strat for a price my Dad was willing to play. 25 years later I love the thing more than ever, especially the color.

I love, love love my 2017 American Professional Mystic Surf Green Tele. My 2020 American Professional II Miami Blue Strat is really growing on me though.

I didn't read all the posts so maybe a decision has already been made.

I can only speak for myself on what does and what doesn't make the grade.

I bought this guitar sight unseen and had it shipped because I loved the color.
    IMG_20210527_125205.jpg
But when I got it, it was actually this color.
    IMG_20200920_132226.jpg

I think we can all agree that's still a beautiful guitar. However, is not really my thing. I tried to like it but couldn't. It's now been turned into a Partscaster (as has my American Standard) sold off.

I also had a 60's Classic Player Stratocaster in the Faded Sonic Blue (aka light green). I bought the guitar used because it was a fantastic deal and I really liked the neck and pickups. Again I didn't care for the color. I tried to let it grow on me and it didn't. Again Partscaster. Kept what I want.

Moral of the story is, if you don't really like it now you probably won't like it later either.
