I might just have paid the guy :whistling: By tuesday the guitar should be here. In the end I paid 400€ total... couldn't resist!

Edit: by the way the guitar is SURF GREEN. Photos and videos are really misleading.

Thanks! The Deluxe is on sale right now, it is painful but necessary :(

That is the proper 50s/60s butterfly string tree, it's just been moved closer to the headstock, probably because the nut needs work, which isn't a problem....and it can't be a Standard.....I guess not everyone has all the features and logos memorized like I do....

That's good to know. I have a 2006 MIM Strat, 1999 MIM Tele, 1999 Jazz Bass and 2016 Precision Bass and none of them come up in on the Fender Serial Number search.

    I don’t get it.
What is the purpose of a serial number?
Doesn’t the manufacturer generates serial numbers?
Isn’t it the manufacturer’s responsibility to maintain a database of serial numbers (i.e. “register”) in the interest of preventing counterfeit duplicates? Why would that responsibility fall to the retainer?

I don't work for Fender, email and ask them.

Simple answer is to run the serial number through the Fender decoder and if it is real it will tell you when and where it was built. There are a lot of Chinese fake Fenders out there that look like the real thing.

It's 100% true - we've asked Fender Consumer Relations ourselves....trust us, we know more than Fender does about its own products....

How else do you explain even recent 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 models not coming up in the database when they are legitimate products?

Classic Series did a Daphne Blue, single ply pickguard and aged yellowish knobs.
Here's the one I sold on about 4 yrs ago.
Wish I'd kept it now. 64702-a310cf5db9b15a79aadb2f7a20b4acca~2.jpg

I like it way more with aged knobs/covers, I'll quickly put them on mine as soon as it arrives.

I agree with you, aged knobs and covers look way better.
I sold that guitar and an SG Standard to buy another guitar. In hindsight a foolish decision.
I 'm sure we' ve all made choices in the past we now regret.

the guitar has arrived. But it seems those are not original pickups at all. All the electronics and pickups look like they are taken from a squier... damn.
