    Hi all;

    I recently bought an Ibanez 82’ TS9 pedal and I have a little bit concern about whether that pedal is not original.
    I think the '82 series electrolytic can capacitors should be like A82xx but mine is A9023 which is probably from the ’90s. And the chip is “T 4 E - TA75558P” which was used in some later originals and all reissues and I think were using with green resistors but mine is fully brown coated resistors.

    Regarding the backplate, I have a silver and the serial number on the plate is 202874. I think this number points to 1982 but this is just a label.

    Please find the attached photos, I would be very happy if you could help me with this.

    Best Regards, Erdem Birgül

    I've owned a number of older Tube screamers and while I'm no expert I'd be inclined to think that pedal is one of the reissues. I think an 82 would likely have a black label on the bottom. The capacitor code looks wrong for an 82 as do the brown resistors. The chip, as you rightly point out, was widely used in the reissues. Again this is just my opinion on what I have seen in my own pedals over the years and what I see in your photo's:)
