I was wondering what you guys in bands were doing about rehearsal during this pandemic. Anyone still getting together or have you hit the brakes until further notice? As for me we have put everything on hold. We are a 4 piece with me being the only one with an office job, the other 3 guys have service jobs dealing with the public; 1 at an airport, 1 manages a Denny's, the other is a beer salesman. That's a risky group.

Sadly no. My current band has not been together long and we have a show booked for April 11th in which we really would need to work to be ready. We rent a rehearsal space in a building with about 20 spaces. The last time I was out of the house to grab essentials I drove by & noticed absolutely no cars in the parking lot. I've never seen that before.

We assume our show will be cancelled as ATM all bars are closed & all gatherings of people are prohibited. I doubt that will be lifted by then. If for some reason we actually get to play we'll just have to do our best.

We haven't practiced in a little over 2 weeks.
We are taking sensible precautions, regular handwashing etc. but where we practice is the Keyboard players home.
His father lives there and is a spry 94, still pretty sharp and mobile, but he is 94.
The Keyboard players wife is on Chemo. I was just informed of this.
Plus she works for the DHS with "at risk " children and so makes in house visits to check on their welfare.
When a parent is found passed out or OD'd in the WalMart parking lot with a kid in a carseat, she has the unenviable task of going to pick up the child.
So she's at risk enough already.

I fall into the "essential workers " category and so go to a jobsite with others around. and while I am as careful as I can be..... I don't want to chance unknowingly spreading anything. Been staying away from pretty much all family and friends for their potential safety.

    better safe than sorry.
Practice will happen again soon enough.

I had just organized a new band and was ready to schedule our first rehearsal. Initially, I thought it would be fine because our practice space was an entire basement where it wouldn't be an issue to observe the two-meter social distance.

However, the day I planned to call all the guys and tell them when, there was a change in the tone from the news media. It seemed likely that before long, we were going to be locked down and unable to get together. I ended up pulling the pin on rehearsing, gave each member a song list of stuff to learn on their own, and a promise to call when the health crisis abated.

Really, really frustrating because I'd invested a lot of time and effort in setting the scene to get this band off the ground. Now, it's just hurry up and wait.

Our drummer has said he's a had a little cold the last week or so... we're not taking any chances... so no rehearsals.. which is very weird because we normally rehearse 3 times a week every week

That's crazy! Same thing happened to 3/4 of my band in January. I was the only one who didn't get sick. It took two weeks for those guys to feel 100%. They tested negative for the flu. Whatever it was it was potent! They have speculated it may have been possible it was coronavirus IDK.

Nope, last Thursday was to be last until things clear up. Practice at drummers property (separate from house) but his wife worried about it passing on to her dad. Our state went into safe-at-home since then anyway.

Upcoming gigs have all been cancelled or delayed so it's fine. Time to wait.

No. I'm in two bands and a duo, haven't practiced in 3 weeks with the bands and 2 weeks with the duo.

    Will wait this thing out.
