Another thanks to Alan. I had fun with this and wish I had more time to smooth out the rough spots
To conserve "resources", I've moved the recording to MyMusic:
No sense it taking up two locations on the server.
I'm liking that phrasing you've got going. The tone changes are nicely placed too. Reserved playing, which serves the song well.
I'm hearing some clipping in the right channel that I couldn't get rid of even through EQ or compression...so, it's still there (Choice 2). It may be in the original backing track.
This is version 2 where I enhanced the slide solo a bit and at the key change to B switched from slide to a fingered lead solo.
Hi to all! Lots of great contris
Started off with the funkier one but (shockingly) ended up keeping the first take. Since I had some time on my hands, I ended up doing Choice 2 as well. Anyway here they are:
I previously comnented on @dogletnoir's and @fezz parka's tracks which are very cool. I don't know what Chris did to that backer but his version is super slick. And thank you again E for an outstanding backer and your cool takes on it.
@Relaxing at Cam: Really liked your intro and use of echo. A minimalist-horn like phrasing for me. Cool.
@Dare1: Liked how you handled the quiet passage. Sweet tone and sassy,SRV, bluesy riffin.
@knh555: Nice trippy funker and emotive, epic rocker. You have a signatue style and tone, which is not an easy thing to accomplish IMHO.
@Brian H: Solid performance throughout and always cool technique. No junk in that funk!
@mjark: Sweet melodic story telling, phrasing - always dig your tone.
@IsaiasO: Welcome to the jam thread. Nice playing on these tracks. I like your tone choices. Cool slide work - rock on.
@blackstrat: Welcome back! Awesome playing and technique as always. Don't be a stranger.
You're very welcome, but it sure doesn't seem like the rest of the gang around here agrees with you, LOL.
And so it goes...
Well there is still some time E so we shall see.
Chipper reached to me and asked me to post Jam 138 which I will. I reached out to Kevin to see if he's going to post his and Chris' backer collab from the PMW05 for today's Challenge but have not heard from him so if anyone has a backer for the Challenge feel free; else it looks like we'll be skipping the Challenge for this Sunday.
Here it is:
