Looking to get a 12in powered PA speaker for under $500. Used mainly for just vocals. I've been looking at these two:

QSC CP12 12" PA Speaker - on sale for $425 and free bag

    JBL EON 612 12" PA speaker w/ bluetooth - $450

so far from what I've read I'm leaning toward the QSC, but I'd love to get your opinions. If you have other suggestions I'm happy to check them... I know you get what you pay for but I can't spend over $500. Thanks!

There’s a bunch of reasons why I would recommend the QSC. I won’t go into that but I can tell you from experience of having lots of both products that QSC’s warranty and speed of service is very good and way better than most others. Without hearing either box I’d pick QSC for that reason alone.

My last job before I retired in 2018 was running sound for a large Corporation.
Our main PA was powered by QSC amps, highly reliable, plenty of headroom for
1000 plus people auditorium. I used JBL EON 10" and 15" for smaller meetings
and outdoor or offsite events. Both were reliable and loud. Mostly for speaking
and playing music. The 15" version has better low end , people would ask where
is my subwoofer. But the 10"s were great as well.
