The new satin nitro Moc Sand is an amazing finish, it feels great! The frets are also a hair taller on 2021 models. And they both sound great clean or with any amount of drive.

For what used Fender John Mayer’s are listed at, it’s worth it to take a Silver Sky for a spin. I don’t even care about it being a John Mayer model - it’s just spec’d exactly right for me, and they play nice with my other strats as well.

I want to be greeted with a blast of sweet nitrocellulose aroma when I open the case!

And I'm ok with it showing a little wear. Better than a ghastly paint chip in poly.

Actually, if I was the one imparting wear and tear on my guitar as a by-product of playing and ownership, then yes.

I've gone past the stage of me being bothered by an instrument showing honest playing marks, not least because I've gone past the stage of buying a guitar with downstream selling in mind.
