Found this at Goodwill for $5. Battery compartment is useless due to corrosion, but could be replaced. Unfortunately, I can't find my 9v adaptor connectors, so I don't know if it works, sounds like crap, or is as good as the Pignose it copies.

I have no idea. Never come across these before. All I know is that it's a Pignose copy and was made in Japan, so it might be decent.

I'm thinking if it's total garbage the speaker and the "Dynamite" logo are worth 5 bucks. I may put Dynamite on a headstock because it's so campy.

Found my AC adaptors. Only one that fits doesn't stay in the hole and the amp doesn't do anything. Either it's the wrong adaptor or the amp is DOA. Haven't been able to find out anything about these amps online. All I found is an old eBay listing for one someone was trying to sell for $99.

Well, since it didn’t work I went to plan B— turning it into a speaker cabinet. Removed the guts and went to work stripping the vinyl cladding. It was peeling off in a couple spots, so I thought “How hard can it be to remove.” Turned out to be a total PITA.

AE388094-AAAC-4D42-AC14-62C1F8EB34F6.jpeg Removing the poo brown vinyl wrap was nothing compared to removing the adhesive residue left behind. This is after a lot of sanding and applying Goo Gone and WD-40.

The corners are hard to clean out due to the angles on the corner protectors. I think they’re nailed on. I just cut the vinyl as close as possible. Will have to revisit these with a razor blade to clean them up.

Congratulations, you now have a plywood box with a large hole in the lid. :whistling:

I had one in the 1970s, though the shop called it a Hondo II Dreadnought... :(
