I've seen alot of homemade EVH guitars and that's one of the coolest ones I've seen! I really like the gold(?) stripes!

Kind of cool when someone makes a guitar that is influenced by, but not a direct copy - a way to pay tribute without being a total poseur.

My one strat is a Steve Morse EBMM influenced build - similar pickup config (including the offset middle pickup,) but on a strat with my own take on the finish, etc:

I have to agree... that is a really cool take on the Bumble Bee. I also like it when someone makes it their own. I actually started to get a little more detail oriented than I planned on with mine but when it was all said and done it is set up for me and doesn't look identical either. Plus the number I put on the body is my own.

As @ToneRanger said, cool that you've come up with an attractive guitar in its own right. We can all see the influences, but the reality is, yours is a much nicer guitar! Great though EVH was as a guitarist, I don't think much of that was down to his skills as a luthier or wireman! :D

Thank you very much. Was fun making. Unfortunately I cannot solve the tuning issues I’m having, after switching to locking Sperzle tuners and deburring the nut, and then setting the trem perfectly so it may now be a hard-tail as I corked the trem. Cork is superb for hard-tailing a Strat. image.jpg
