Here in FL it was opened up to anyone 65 plus years of age. I signed up myself and wife at a local pharmacy that starts the shots tomorrow. The web site to register opened this AM and I got 2 appts for Sunday. I am so thrilled as I have some issues with my immune system due to a diagnosis of MGUS. As a result I'm tested for Multiple Myeloma every 6 months. We've been gigging although only outdoor, stage or no dance floor gigs. Typically I'm the only one in the place with a mask on when I walk up to the bar for my in between sets beer. As where I live in FL has a 12+% positivity rate for 5-7 days after every gig I sweat it out that I'll get sick. Every member of the band was able to book appts over the next few days as well. Hope is on the way...

Working in a type of first responders role I was able to get my first shot on Dec. 31.
One thing to know. The shot is pretty painless but after a couple hours you're shoulder will start to ache. By the end of the day it will feel like you were hit with a 90 mph fast ball. That feeling will stay for about 2 days. Just an FYI. I also am not the only one here that has had this. Every person I know and have spoken with about it that's had the shot says the exact same thing. The ache is not like that of a flu shot which makes the entire muscle ache but it is very concentrated to the injection site.
You will also be required to sit in wait for 15 minutes afterward to make sure you don't have any reactions to it.

Cool. I'm 52 and the wife is 46 and we're not in any categories that would move us up in line, so we don't know when we'll be able to get it. We're ready though...

Got mine on Christmas Eve. No drama at all. Like you guys said, arm started getting sore later that afternoon, and lasted for maybe a day or two. I get my second dose next week.

everyone I work with had it, too. Some said they were feeling lightheaded for just a minute, that’s the worst thing I’ve heard from anyone I know.

I'm on the cusp and wondering if I'll move up to the front of the vaccine line before I turn 65 in May. I wouldn't think so, but who knows. At least I get to enjoy natural immunity for a spell, pending confirmation by the Red Cross from my blood donation yesterday.

I'm 65 in June, so by the time they get round to me will probably be around the time I'd have become a higher priority... o_O

That's what I'm thinking will be my case as well. I guess I'll just wait until someone tells what to do. :D

In April or May, you and I will end up in that group to be known as the TBV (to be vaccinated) and are shipped off to the reinvigourated POW camps on the Isle of Man.

You wouldn't sit down for two days if it was.

Not gonna lie, I'm a bit jealous. I want this in the rearview mirror badly.

So glad to hear that you guys are getting it! I turned 48 in Jan 1, so I don't think my turn won't come up for a while. Kind of eager to get it. Eager for as many people that should get it, get it. I miss the annoyances of being with humans while not caring for possible contagions!
