That was great.
A proper well made shepherd's pie (lots of shepherd, not too much pie) with a stack of peas on the side, is one of those things you never grow tired of.
I'm a fan (of shepherd's pie).
The story goes that backstage at Stones concerts, 2 shepards pies are laid out by catering, one for Keef, and one for everyone else. And the superstition is that no one is allowed to cut into the shepards pie until Keef cuts into his first.
I'd eat that all day before I tried even a spoonful of goat's head soup.

I just told my missus. Believe it or not, she was making a shepherd's pie at the time!
"I know it's only Rock-n-Roll but I like it. And Shepherd's Pie. I like that too. "

The Peddler's Daughter in Nashua, NH makes a mean shepherd's pie but they call it a cottage pie. Absolutely delicious. I like mine with ground cayenne pepper on it (I bring my own)
He gives his personal recipe in Life. I make mine differently, but I did try adding the extra layer of onions before the mashed potatoes go on and the pan goes in the oven, and it does make a difference.
