Let me know how it turned out. Curious to see if their QC has improved over the last few years.

How was the customer relations throughout the process?

Curious because I’ve been on the fence for a long time now. Thanks.

    Nice.

I love Jason. Altitudes is one of my favorite songs period. I was always a fan of the 'numbers' inlays because I personally have to count them to know which one is which LOL.

Oh god don't get me started on their customer relations! I can sum it up in two words "The Worst"...

I'm hoping the guitar will more than makeup for it...

nederemer ya Jasons the best! He's a better man than I for sure, I don't know I would handle what befell him if??? It more than likely wouldn't be pretty because for sure I don't have his kind of strength of will...

"Curious to see if their QC has improved over the last few years."

I haven't had the chance to look it over with a fine-tooth comb but the first few things I noticed is they were pretty conservative with setting the string action and the Floyd Rose bridge isn't perfectly level with the body as it always should correctly be, Very close but not perfect...

I'm going to need some alone time with it before I can tell you more...

    So far I'm very happy!

Hey, can someone tell me what the typical neck relief measurement is for this type of guitar?

It seems like it is set with possibly more relief than is necessary?

Well after a little time with my new Kiesel guitar I've found something I'm not happy about.

On the Floyd Rose bridge and under the "A" string saddle I found a little piece of .0004 shim stock which was only behind the saddle lockdown bolt so it wasn't supporting the saddle from front to back...

AND why was it necessary to make it and put it under one saddle?

I'd say it seems like a quick fix for something?

I measured the saddle height against it's counterpart on the other side using a digital caliper and they are both the same height?

I just bought a new $2,000.00 guitar and there should be no "quick fix" anywhere with it, Is that unreasonable to expect???

If there is a prob with the bridge they should have used a diff one or if there is a prob with the nut they should have used a diff nut OR a much scarier thought is there a prob with the neck???

It has to be one of those three things, So which one is it???

Bummer man. I’m a big Jason Becker fan too. Almost pulled the trigger numerous times on a few different Carvin’s over the last 15 years. I came real close to buying a Kiesel last year, but after hearing how they went downhill and reading reviews on different forums, I couldn’t do it.

I have two friends that have had nothing but trouble and aggravation with Kiesel. From defects (chips, dings, paint, finish, hardware, electronics, whatever, etc..) in their custom guitars to hassles with customer relations...both during the building process and after the fact. Kiesel pretty much took an all sales are final approach.

One friend tried to exchange his for another but they wouldn’t do it. I’m guessing it’s because they are built to custom specs, I don’t know. So he sold it. My other friend just chalked it up as a loss and destroyed his.

    There is no remorse...

if a shim was needed it should be a correct shim for the job which the shim used was not...

it is shimmed like the center illustration...

Another thing I found that was wrong was the shim for the saddle tension plate was between the tension plate and the base plate when it should be between the spring block and the tension plate to support the 6 fingers...

And now I see something else is wrong, I paid for the "drop shadow logo in silver" and I got plain white...

I've already changed the stock factory sustain block to a factory Floyd Rose tungsten sustain block and I have a set of Graph Tech Floyd Rose String Saver Saddle, The GT saddles have a 20" radius and my guitar's fretboard has a 14" radius so instead of adding shims under the high & middle saddles I machined the bottom of the outer and middle saddles to remove the need for shims, I made sure I removed equal amounts of the saddles on both sides using a digital caliper and my radius gage...

The block says 37 but it's machined down to 34 which is what the stock block was.

I've talked Kiesel yesterday and they are sending me a prepaid FedEx return tag. I asked about the Floyd Rose upgrades I'm doing and if it will pose a prob and they said not at all.

The guitar is ready to go back and I am just waiting for the return label...

Well, so far Kiesel has really stepped up and have handled everything with the return and without even a hint of attitude...

    FedEx picks it up tomorrow...

Are you exchanging it for another or returning it for a refund?

I believe they are just going to redo the head face, All the rest of the head is tongue oiled bare maple and then string it and set everything back up and then send it back? I fixed any issues with the bridge myself and everything else is perfect!
