Man...I was lookin foward to the cookie pics
My mom used to do a ton o' baking during the pre-thanksgiving thru x-mas. I still miss that
Got this one about 20 years ago . A friend of mine broke me from the grinchy, bah humbug thing and convinced me I needed a tree. It came with the wood decorations you see but not enough . I went back to get another one but they were gone. Unfortunately she isn't on this Earth anymore but it is a nice reminder.
A lot of the other stuff came from my Mom, who has also departed this plane.
The Eeyore and snail stuff comes courtesy of another dear friend. She was always trying to talk me into stuff that I really didn't want to do. When I'd balk she would call me Eeyore. You know the phrase " oh bother ", that would follow. The snail is from her name, Richiele, Ele for short. I found the snail in a box of my old stuff while in my parents attic . So the snail got named Sna-Ele.
Richiele won't be here much longer either. She has a brain aneurysm. They got one out a few years ago, a really nasty one. They literally opened up about the front quarter of her skull to dig it out. A year later, maybe 2 years ago they found another one. This one they cant do anything with. So one day the time bomb will go off
For only being two feet tall this tree carries a lot of sentiment

I did do a Festivus Pole for a few years. A piece of conduit from the jobsite worked just fine

My one and only Xmas decoration. It's been there for years and never gets moved.
We usually set up two (one real one fake) but since we'll be out of town on Christmas day we just got one small one this year. Heading to FL on the 23rd.
Now that’s a tree that’s filled with family love
